Please access Office365 through MyViking.

If you have any other version of Microsoft Office installed, you must un-install it and re-install Office365 from within MyViking.

"Unlicensed Product" error in Office 365

If you lead by opening the Word document first, you may receive the "unlicensed" error message.  You may need to open Office365 first, then pull your document into Office365.

Please close all browsers and Word documents.  Then log into MyViking and click on the "Office365" icon.  You should get an option on the main section of the page to "Browse" documents, or along the top left corner select "File", then select "Open" or something similar.  Use the navigation popup to select and open your document. 

Office365 Desktop Client: Blank white prompt box

Are you encountering a blank white box after if you've downloaded the Office365 desktop client?  Please submit a ticket!

1. Once the download has completed, open "Finder", go to "Downloads", and double-click Microsoft_365_and_Office...BusinessPro_installer.pkg file (the name might vary slightly)

2. On the first installation screen, select Continue to begin the installation process
   1. Review the software license agreement, and then click Continue
   2. Select Agree to agree to the terms of the software license agreement
   3. Choose how you want to install Microsoft 365 and click Continue
   4. Review the disk space requirements or change your install location, and then click Install
   5. Enter your Mac login password (the password you use to log in to your Mac), if prompted, and then click Install Software
   6. The software begins to install. Click Close when the installation is finished

3. Go to where your apps are, either "Launchpad" or "Finder", and all of the Microsoft apps should be there

You can’t install the Windows desktop versions of Microsoft 365 on a Chromebook, but you can still access Microsoft 365 through MyViking.

1. Make sure you are signed in to your Grayson College email address.
   • Click on the profile icon in the top right to see which profile you are signed into
2. If you are not signed in to your school email: Select "Work or school account" and sign in using your Grayson College student email account.

The "Compare" button is not available on the online/cloud version of PowerPoint. You must install the PowerPoint application (using the instructions above) from Office365 offered within MyViking onto your device. Once you have the program installed, the "compare" button is under the "Review" tab. (see screenshot)
