How do I change my email address?
Grayson College issued email addresses are only changed if there was an error or in limited cases such as a marriage, divorce, or a legal name change. For assistance with a Name Change Request, please contact the Admissions Office by emailing Admissions or call 903-463-8604.
The personal (non-Grayson) email address associated with your Grayson College account can be updated in the MyViking Student Planner.
Once you are logged in to the MyViking portal, please update the personal email address associated with your account by clicking on "Student Planner" > "Home" > "My Profile".
You are able to update the Billing and Local information online, but you will need to contact Admissions to update the Home information.

Are classes held on zoom?
No, all Grayson College virtual classes are held in Canvas LMS.
Can you supply a student with a hotspot for internet access?
Grayson College does not have hotspots available to students at this time.

Your username is tied to all of your accounts across many systems. Changing your username can create complications logging into Grayson College systems.
How do I connect to Wi-Fi?
If you are a student at Grayson College, complete these steps to connect to Wi-Fi.
If you are using a MAC:
- On the menu bar at the top of the screen, locate the Wi-Fi symbol.
- Click on the Wi-Fi symbol to see the list of networks available.
- Select the network you wish to connect to.

- On the taskbar in the lower right-hand corner of your screen, locate the Wi-Fi symbol.

How do I print?
You can print in the Grayson College Library at the Denison campus.
Here are a few tips on how to print:
- Save money and save paper by printing double-sided.
- Black & White is much cheaper than printing in color! Always select B&W unless you need something printed in color.
- Need to scan something? Consider taking a picture of it with your smartphone instead.

How do I set up my email?
Grayson College students are required to use their student email address (@vikings.grayson.edu) for all communication related to their Grayson College account.
To access your Grayson College student email account:
- Login to https://gcidentity.grayson.edu/ui/applications
- Click on the Gmail icon
If your personal email address populates by default, please review our troubleshooting steps here:

How do I sign up for emergency alerts?
Viking Alerts is the primary notification source about things such as campus closed due to icy conditions, tornado warnings, shelter in place and other important campus messaging.

How much does printing cost?
The Grayson College library offers color impressions for Grayson College employees when a GL code is provided. We transfer the costs as reflected on the monthly Xerox invoice.

The Grayson College Library only provides black impressions for community members. The charge for black impressions is 5 cents.
How often does my password expire?
Student and Employee passwords are set to expire and must be updated every 90 days. Please update your password by using the "Forgot My Password" option on the login page.

What antivirus software should I use?
Antivirus software provides proactive and reactive protection against viruses on your computer. Keep your antivirus definitions up to date to ensure the most amount of protection.
Grayson College recommends using at least the built in security provided by Windows, Microsoft Defender.
What should I do if my account has been locked?
Your account will become "locked" after multiple failed attempts of entering an incorrect password on the MyViking login page. Please wait 10 minutes and try again.
To reset your password for MyViking:

- Click on MyViking
- Click on Forgot My Password

What should I know about protecting my personal information online?
Grayson College students and employees are encouraged to use Phish Alarm or click "Report Phishing" within your college issued email account to report phishing emails.
It is important to safeguard your information online to protect yourself from identity theft. Here are some ways to protect your online identity:
- Create strong and unique passwords for every account you have
- Add multi-factor authentication to accounts that offer it
- Don't click on strange-looking links
- Don't open emails from strangers
- Avoid using unsecured public Wi-Fi
What type of computer should I buy?
When choosing a computer, it is important to think about how you will use the computer. Are you enrolled in a graphic design program or an analytics program and need additional processing power? Does your program require software that is Mac or PC specific? As a baseline, target a computer with at least an i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB solid state hard drive. You may want to check with your program to learn about any specific requirements for your major. Please check with your Success Coach for additional purchasing advice.
- Make sure to show your student ID at the Apple Store to receive a student discount.
- Save up to 10% on Dell purchases when you verify with your student email address.
What web browser should I use?
Grayson College recommends using Google Chrome for the most seamless experience. Google Chrome is most compatible with our learning management system, the portal, and other campus resources.
If you experience issues with Google Chrome, please try alternative browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
Who can I contact if I don't see my digital access code?
The Victor E Bundle includes all required textbooks, eTextbooks, lab manuals, and access codes to eligible students. Please contact the Bookstore for assistance with your textbook access code.

Why are my classes not in Canvas?
Your classes may not show up in Canvas until the first day of the term.
